Maybelle Clark Macdonald
Fund Agrees to $150,000 challenge grant!

We received great news this week
– after a very positive meeting with Executive
Director, Chris Folkestad, the Maybelle
Clark Macdonald Fund (MCMF) is providing the
Project with a $150,000 matching grant.
They are very supportive and want us to achieve
the full amount. If we do, it will go a long way
to receiving grants from other foundations - MCMF
is a great organization to have in our corner.
Here is how it will work:
MCMF will match
dollar for dollar any $1000 - $5000 donation
we receive from now until
July 4th, 2006 [now extended
thru September 1st. Read
accompanying article]. They have
had a lot of success employing this strategy to
help organizations reach donors they may not otherwise
attract. We expect that it will greatly expand
our base.
Here is how you can help:
- If you were planning on making
a gift in this range, now is the time
to make it go twice as far. If you were considering
a larger contribution, it can be broken up between
individual and business or family members so
that the full amount is matched. Visit our Make
a Donation page.
- We need to reach out
to individuals, businesses and organizations
that can contribute at this level, so we need
ideas and volunteers. A "MCM Challenge
Team" is being formed. Please join if you
can commit to making a few phones calls (it
is easy, we have a soft contact list), have
ideas on other ways to approach potential donors,
and/or have connections to potential donors.
- Spread the word,
you never know who this might appeal to. And,
if you have connections to the Maybelle
Clark Macdonald Fund please let them know you
appreciate their support
This is a very exciting opportunity
to take a large step forward in our fundraising
process. We want to be successful and plan on
having fun doing it, so please join us in any
way that you can.
